Mental Health Awareness Week 2023

My Clubhouse is based in Scotland & we did lots of things to help raise awareness around the theme of Anxiety this year.

Anxiety is a massive issue & it affects a lot of people. In Fact it is normal for people to feel anxious sometimes and it’s usually just part of life but if it gets out of hand and affects the quality of our life it can be a big problem, so we need to get help with it if it gets too much.

The mental health foundation website has a lot of helpful information about anxiety and how to help manage it and they have been promoting mental health awareness week as much as they can, they also provide other charities the tools to do the same.

As a member of my Clubhouse i wanted to join in to raise awareness of members issues around anxiety so we wrote some questions & printed an anxiety questionnaire which was distributed & filled in throughout the week, I used a template on canva & added the information onto it with their favourite green thing, I scheduled 18 posts for facebook & instagram from Mon 15th to Mon 22nd.

During the week we had a big anxiety quiz where we chatted to members about mental health issues, anxiety & stigma, We also did some badge making & member led Art. Some video footage was recorded & pictures were also taken & we had some spare spider plants that we were giving away, lots of members were also wearing green for the wear it green day.

During the week members were also able to be recoded talking about the theme of anxiety for the lets flourish radio show which should be featured on this website soon.

Mental health awareness week continued in Europe & a whole month was dedicated to Mental health action in the USA.
