What does your unit involve?

We like to think of ourselves as the Command Centre of Flourish House - doing the background work that keeps the place ticking along! We look after the company finance and other business tasks, website and social media, communications such as the monthly newsletter, sending out birthday cards and promoting events. 

And don’t worry if your digital skills are a bit rusty - working with C&A is a great way to improve, and there’s plenty of work which isn’t computer based.

As a member, how could I contribute to C&A?

There are so many different ways: getting involved with admin and finance tasks, creating social media posts, working on the monthly newsletter, among many other things! No two days are the same at Flourish. You could help us with shredding documents, preparing the cafe takings for banking, typing up minutes from meetings, or taking care of the houseplants. One of our members even built this website! You get to choose what you want to be involved in.

Can you think of anything you'd like to talk about that you've been proud to be involved in?

We’re always super proud of The Flourish Times, our monthly newsletter, and the amazing variety of work you can find in it. There’s poetry, artwork, quizzes, stories, and updates on what’s happening in Flourish. We have editorial meetings every week and anyone can contribute. It’s lots of fun sitting around the table and coming up with ideas together.

We’re also very proud of the ingenuity and creativity of our members when coming up with ways to improve how the C&A unit works. One of our members made a new staff timesheet system using Google Sheets which has simplified the process and made it easier for other members to get involved in the task.

Can you name a (non-house pet) animal you like?

Red Panda, but also kinda Raccoon.
