About Us

Flourish House is a mental health recovery community. Based on the International Clubhouse movement, we help people to build meaningful relationships through meaningful activity. As the only organisation of its kind in Scotland, we offer support to people with long term mental illnesses, enabling them to gain a sense of well-being and recover confidence. We also encourage people to learn new skills to achieve social, financial and vocational goals and becoming active participants in the community.

Vision

To live in a society where people who have mental health difficulties are valued as neighbours, colleagues and friends.

Mission

Flourish House is a Clubhouse that enables people with mental health difficulties to gain a sense of well-being. Members recover confidence and skills whilst achieving social, financial and vocational goals.

The Clubhouse Model

Clubhouses are built upon the belief that every member has the potential to sufficiently recover from the effects of mental illness to lead a personally satisfying life as an integrated member of society. During the course of their participation in a Clubhouse, members gain access to services and support they need to continue their recovery and the opportunity to rejoin the worlds of friendships, family, employment and education. It provides a restorative environment for people whose lives have been severely disrupted because of their mental illness, and who need the support of others in recovery and who believe that mental illness is treatable.
