Employment Programmes

Transitional Employment Placements

The Transitional Employment (TE) Programme is unique to the Clubhouse Model. All TE Placements are located on site at the employers place of business and are part time, time limited jobs; typically 8 hours per week and lasting for around 6-9 months in duration. Positions are paid at least minimum wage.

Flourish House staff will work with the employer to help identify a suitable position, agree the role and function of the job and successfully match the workplace requirements to a member from Flourish House. TE works best when the employer has a genuine need for a task to be done and it has the potential to bring significant benefits to your business.

Staff from Flourish House will select, train and support the member and the employer throughout the placement.

Absences will be covered by Flourish House so you don't have to worry about who is going to fill in if someone is sick.

Standards of work will be guaranteed: the job will be done to your specification and our staff will support the member on placement to ensure standards are maintained.

Before the placement ends a new member is lined up to ensure a seamless transition with no additional recruitment and training costs.

Supported Employment Programme.

As well as Transitional Employment Placements, Flourish House also offers members and employers a Supported Employment (SE) Programme. This supports members who have secured employment, with or with out assistance from Flourish House. As an employee they are entitled to the same wages and conditions as any other employee; however Flourish House can offer additional help and advice to the member and the employer.

By offering proactive support Flourish House can help the member adjust and settle in to employment, deal with situations that may arise at work and to offer support and advice. The support available can include: accompanying a member to the workplace on the first day or for the first few days when they start work; supporting members to return to work if they have been off for a period of time, either by going with them to their workplace, or meeting regularly with them.Members can also discuss any issues or anxieties they have with Flourish House staff, and if necessary staff of Flourish House will meet with the employer to discuss possible reasonable adjustments that may help the member sustain their employment. The level of support and the frequency of meetings and contact with the employer is tailored to the needs of the member and employer.

By providing ongoing support through the SE programme the employee gains the support to make reasonable adjustments or learn new skills and the employer retains their member of staff.

Mental Health Awareness Training

For employers and organisations working with Flourish House we are happy to offer mental health awareness training to teams that the employer or organisation may identify.

Training can be tailored to suit the employer/organisations needs. The training encourages participants to consider the causes of mental health problems, discuss their own fears and look at how support can be offered.

Careful consideration of mental health in the work place can raise morale, increase productivity and reduce absentee rates.

It also raises awareness of an employers legal duty through the Disability Discrimination Act and Health and Safety legislation to create a mentally healthy working Environment (e.g. such as reasonable adjustments).
